Louis R. Chenevert is a Canadian businessman and executive who is most well-known as the chairman and CEO of the United Technologies Corporation, an American company specializing in research, development, and manufacturing of high technology products in a number of areas, including airplane engines, aerospace systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, elevators, escalators, fire and security systems, building systems, and industrial products. Under Louis R. Chenevert, the company has grown tremendously, as their contracts with the United States Military continue, and new clients started dealing with them.
Louis R. Chenevert was born in Canada, but transferred his residence to the United States a couple of years ago. He attended the University of Montreal where he got his Bachelor of Commerce degree. After graduating from college, he tried looking for a jobs that would assist him financially. He worked with General Motors in the past and had been with the company for 14 years; and then, Louis R. Chenevert decided to transfer to Pratt & Whitney where he worked for six years. He worked hard, until he reached a successful and comfortable life, but he never stopped there. His greatest achievement was when he was appointed as the chief operating officer of the United Technologies Corporation in 2006. Louis R. Chenevert managed to lead the company to greater heights, thanks to his experiences with management and leadership. He was promoted to become the chairman and the chief executive of the company, and while tending to his corporate duties, he also served as the vice chairman of the executive committee of The Business Council, an American business organization. After 12 years of working with the United Technologies Corporation, Louis R. Chenevert decided to retire. He stepped down from his position in 2014 and has been enjoying his life ever since. In 2015, he decided to join Goldman Sachs, taking up the role as an exclusive advisor for the Merchant Banking Division of the company.
